DCBS Turf League – 2022

Sports. The highs, the lows, the weird, the unbelievable, and everything in between. We love it!  

DCBS Turf League was powered by Viji Finance Ltd and supported by Dr. Garg’s Dental Specialties & Research Centre Pvt. Ltd, Sian, Sarthi Rath Brand and Sneaker X Singh.

There were 6 extraordinary teams. All of them full of energy and enthusiasm who gave their all in the matches. 

  • Team 1 Baazigar with Captain Harman Chaddha – Level 5
  • Team 2 Panthers with Captain Gurmehar Singh – Level 5
  • Team 3 Iconic with Captain Vishesh Kaushik – Level 4
  • Team 4 Insecure Men with Captain as Krish Ahuja – Level 4
  • Team 5 295 with Captain as Vasu Agrawal – Level – 4
    And team 6 Tappu Sena with captain as Dhruv Raheja 

 

6 teams played against each-other. The 4 teams based on their position and net run rate made a place for themselves in the semifinals. These 4 teams were – Panthers, Insecure men, Tapu sena and Baazigar.

Man of the match for semifinal – 1, was Ansh Bajaj from Level 5.

Man of the match for semifinal – 2 was Yashwardhan singh Sisodiya, from Level 5.

    The final was played between Panther and Baazigar –

  • The man of the match for finals was Ansh Bajaj from Level 5.
  • The best bowler of the tournament Yashwardhan singh Sisodiya, from Level 5.
  • The best batsman of the tournament was Ansh Bajaj from Level 5.
  • The winning captain of team Baazigar – Harman Chaddha and team collected the winning trophy.

Day 1 of the Master Class on Family -owned Businesses for the students of Daly College Business School by SP Jain Institute of Mgt and Research, Mumbai A two-hour session by Prof. N. Krishnan was full of insights, roadmap and possible hindrances in succession planning.

Dr N Krishnan has over 25 years of experience in various industries like Infrastructure , IT, Consulting, Manufacturing and Engineering in multiple locations across India and abroad. Students are enthralled with his strong experiences in Strategic HR, Talent Management, Leadership Development, Consulting and Organization Development.

Day 2 of the Master Class on Family owned Businesses for the students of Daly College Business School well conducted by Dr. Tulsi Jayakumar, Professor of Economics and Executive Director, Centre for Family Business & Entrepreneurship at Bhavans S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai.

Day 3 Scalability, being asset light and judicious technology implementation to be the core theme of Customer acquisition along with socio -eco ethos and aspirational values are amongst a few deliverables by Dr Farhan Ghadially, a CA, a senator -India for the World Business Angel Forum, a Mentor with Atal Incubation Center at IIM Sirmaur and an investment – banker heading a multi -family o&ce, a recipient of India Prime Awards 2022 and an avid writer for ‘Finance ka Funda’ inMid-day daily Indian compact newspaper of Mumbai on every Monday! Zed Black ke Sath “PRARTHANA HOGI SWEKAAR”

Zed Black ke sath “PRARTHANA HOGI SWEKAAR”- students of Daly College Business School recently visited the Leading incense stick manufacturer Zed Black whose parent company is Mysore Deep Perfumery House (MDPH)
Endeavouring to create an authentic and pure environment for the consumers, Zed Black is India’s second largest manufacturers of Agarbattis with a range of 1200 products having 4 manufacturing units, Unit-3 is located at Dewas is the world’s largest raw agarbatti manufacturing unit spread over 4 lac sqft. MDPH, Zed Black claims to have 0% wastage as they have a strong recycling management.
Students were informed and amazed to learn the practical aspects of management with clear example of how manpower, time and quality play pivotal roles in effective processes.

DCBS Celebrated its Pre – Deepawali Event

Celebrations, good times lots fun participation on the Diwali Dhamaka!! DCBS celebrated its pre – Deepawali event with full enthusiasm of the students and staff on 19th October, 22.

There were events designed with the festive mood in mind – setting the mood with the ‘Ek Shloka Ramayana’ followed by a quiz based on the same created by Mrs. Sethi and Ms. Pandey. Followed by the Creative Rangoli Competition in which the enthusiasm was not limited to the girls along, but there were two entries from boys as well. In fact, the first time ever at DCBS the winner for the most creative design, colour combination and neatness was a boy! Yes Yash Kakirde, who also has to his credit the first ever winner of Festive Diya painting to be won by a male student. Well done Yash – you’ve created a record and encouraged other male students as well. The other winners of the Creative Rangoli were Akansha Bihani and Avani Mehta whereas Mahak Gupta and Janhvi Badera for the Festive Diya painting competition. Harshita Jhat displayed her creativity with a brilliant rangoli she volunteered to make for all of us.

Light and blow the candles in a single breath was an exciting 1-minute challenge – taken by almost most of the students, with Krish Ahuja winning it lighting 18 candles with a single matchstick and Aditya Soni as the runner-up with 17 lit.

Arm wrestling was the like clash of the titans – loaded with fun and energy power and tactic, with Kalash Parmar & Harshita Jhat leading the pack followed by Vasu Agrawal and Sweta Dubey.

The most enjoyed thrilling events of the day were the Bollywood Tashshan and the Bollywood Ramp walk. Lively bubbling with enthusiasm zeal and energy – almost all the students came up and performed – a mix of character enactment, modelling and posing, dialogue delivery, ramp walk and dance. Sure shot passionately executed by the students and few staff as well we had characters from SRK of Mohabbhatain, to Barfi, Circuit, Munna bhai and Munna Bhaiya, Anjali from DDLJ to Gangu Bai, to name a few. Yogansh Chhawniyan emerged the winner as SRK with his talent and super enacting of scenes, Rounik Tiwari and Monish Kazi as Barfi followed suit. The ramp walk winning group walking away with the gift hampers were Mahek Gulati, Fatima Salim, Krish Ahuja, Dhruv Raheja & Aryaman Sainy; the runners- up were Kalash Parmar, Tanush Taktani, Roshan and friends

The events were planned designed & executed by Mrs. Poojae Sethi, Lahek Batra aided putting her concepts digitally thru her visually appealing posters. The pillar of support were Nividita Pandey along with the student OC team; Avani Mehta, Devakshu Srivastava, Tanya Soni and Akansha Bihani without whom it wouldn’t have been a rocking memorable pre- Deepawali festive celebration.

The day ended with prize distribution – hampers and Deepawali gifts and certificates for all the winners.

Gaurav Rawal’s Session

On 17th October 2022, as a vital part of the enrichment program for students and staffan expert talk was organized on “Being cyber smart & secure” at DCBS Indore. Ms.Harshita Jat Student of year 1, welcomed the keynote speaker Professor Gaurav Rawal,who is a national-level cyber security expert and guest trainer at Police Training Institute(PTC, Indore).

Students were informed of the various forms of digital or white color crime likecybercrime against the Nation (cyber warfare), cybercrime against the Organization(corporate cyber-attacks), and cybercrime against the Society (citizen cyber-attacks).Prof Rawal explained the challenges faced by Indian law enforcement agencies inbattling cybercrimes

Prof Gaurav Rawal threw light upon the causes and prevention of cybercrime. He shared insights on cyber-crime reporting, awareness regarding social engineering, cyberstalking, and cyberbullying under IT act section 66 E.

Online transactions and ease of communication on social media were also discussed.Spoofing, phishing, and financial frauds like identity theft had been elaborated. Hefocused on the time spent on social media platforms like- Twitter, Facebook, Instagram,LinkedIn and the minimum age criteria of enrollment on these platforms. The relevantsections of cyber law in India under IT Act provisions were mentioned.

He focused on the time spent on social media platforms like- Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and the minimum age criteria of enrollment on these platforms. Prof Rawal also resolved the queries of students and suggested precautionary measures while using social media platforms.
As a token of appreciation and gratitude DCBS Director Dr. Rinku Joshi presented a memento. The program was coordinated by Dr. Shreshth Chhabra, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Mahek Gupta, year 2 student. Dean Mr. Om Singh, faculty members and students of year 1 & 2 were present during the interactive session.

Youth Mental Health : Early Identification and Prevention

Session was organised on the occasion of world mental health day. Dr Lavina Singh counselling psychologist at Visit app conducted this session

She covered important elements related to Mental health challenges and strategies. Dr.Singh discussed the common symptoms of Depression and Anxiety. And how we can prevent it by keeping our mind body and soul in sync.

For mind: Adding knowledge, Deep breathing, Journaling.

For body: Movement, Break, Diet

For Soul: Connect with self and others, Express yourself through Art, Dance, Music, Poetry etc.

Dr. Lavina also demonstrated of few strategies

Grounding technique, Body mind connection through art therapy, Movement through Dance therapy.

Inducation Programme 2022

The 24th Induction Programme for the incoming batch 2022-25 of Daly College Business School started on 21st September 2022 with great fervor. Director DCBS Dr. Rinku Joshi presented the glimpses and achievements of the DCBS based on whihc the students were mentored about planning their roadmap ahead at DCBS. Dean DCBS Mr. Om Singh Chauhan motivated the students with his address. The President DCBS Alumni Association, Mr. Deepak Patel, President DCBS Alumni Association spoke about the importance of mental health and be aware about it.
